Allies for Activation benefits 1,700 people through 50 female sports promoters throughout Guanajuato

In another edition of Connecting with the People, the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, noted her administration’s commitment to sports and physical activity, pillars to improve the quality of life of girls, boys, young and adults throughout the State.
“In the Government of the People, we see sports as a way to connect with society, creating healthier environments to motivate our young, children, and everyone in Guanajuato, for the sake of our health,” the Governor stated as she welcomed all to the broadcast.
The program noted the impact of the Allies for Activation program, an initiative that recognizes and strengthens the work of women advocates who, from their communities, inspire and support hundreds of people in their daily sports practice.
Testimonies like that of Maria del Carmen Ruiz Almanza, a native of Valle de Santiago and a participant in Aliadas, tell how sport transforms lives and strengthens the social fabric.
“I was working with older adults in my community and I took the initiative to send a letter to the Government of the People asking for support for materials. I’m surprised they responded quickly, telling me they would support me and that they were also inviting me to the Aliadas project. Although I didn’t know anything about it, if it was for the benefit of my older adults, it was welcome,” María recounted her story.
With Allies for Activation, the Sports Commission (CODE) has gone beyond sports facilities to empower women throughout the State, providing them with tools and equipment to promote sports in every corner of Guanajuato.
“Carmen’s story is that of many women in Guanajuato, who go out of their way to find ways to help, who genuinely and generously raise their hands to contribute and we wanted to channel what they are already doing, to bring it together in Allies and thus continue promoting them,” emphasized Governor Libia Dennise.
Currently, 50 women are part of Allies for Activation, benefiting nearly 1,700 people. For example, Carmen impacts the lives of 200 Vallense residents.
13 medals for Guanajuatense residents at 2025 Junior Pan American Games
The Governor and CODE Director Yendi Cortinas Lopez, shared the achievements of the Guanajuatense delegation at the Asuncion 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay, where 25 athletes from Guanajuato participated and earned a total of 13 medals for Mexico: 3 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze, a historic number that represented more than 10% of the national medal tally.
“Each medal reflects years of discipline, effort, and dreams fulfilled. Our athletes are the pride of Guanajuato and an example of what it means to strive for a goal,” said the Governor.
