The four lanes of La Libertad Boulevard connecting Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende have been opened to traffic, and pending work due to rain delays will be completed by September 10.

The head of the Secretary of Public Works, Juan Pablo Perez Beltran, reported that the project is 95.8% complete.

“This is one of the most important and modern projects in the State, and we are very pleased to put it into operation. Due to the rains of recent weeks, there is still some work pending, but traffic will no longer be interrupted,” said the State official.
Perez Beltran explained that a time extension agreement is in progress and that the pending work will be fully completed by September 10th at the latest.

Pending actions include:
- Completion of the urban landscape on medians and structures; completion of gutters, curbs, and side roads; installation of vertical signage and bicycle lane markings; construction of bus stops and access points; stormwater drainage works; and slope protection in specific areas
It is a high-quality hydraulic concrete road with a two-way cycle path, lighting, bridges, turnarounds, and road infrastructure designed for the safety of everyone.

“In the Government of the People, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, we act decisively when it comes to the well-being of our people. This project is the result of commitment, listening to the citizens, and the will to build a better future for Guanajuato,” noted Perez Beltran.
La Libertad Boulevard represents an investment of more than 3.25 billion pesos and generates direct benefits such as increased connectivity, road safety, economic development, and jobs, in addition to a substantial improvement in traffic between two of Guanajuato’s most emblematic municipalities.
