In compliance with the National Strategy for the Strengthening of Magic Towns, the Government of the State of Guanajuato, through the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), formalized the installation of the Tourism Advisory Council for Magic Towns of Guanajuato, a collegiate body aimed at advising, technically supporting, and promoting the tourism development of these destinations with a sustainable vision, cultural identity, and community participation.

Its integration is part of the results required by the Federal Tourism Secretary for municipalities to remain in this national program.

The Advisory Council’s purpose is to coordinate actions and issue recommendations for strengthening tourist destinations through comprehensive public policies, sustainability, innovation, and cultural promotion. It is a key body for ensuring the continuity and improvement of tourism projects with a local identity.

Its main functions include:
- Advising on public policies, tourism products, and infrastructure
- Promotion of national and international positioning strategies
- Foster sustainable development in harmony with the environment and local cultures
- Identify opportunities to improve and expand the tourism potential of each Pueblo Magico (Magic Town)

This body brings together representatives from all three levels of government, academia, civil society, the private sector, and citizen committees. Multisectoral participation ensures comprehensive and representative decision-making.

Guanajuato reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its six Magic Towns:
- Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Mineral de Pozos, Comonfort, Salvatierra, Jalpa de Canovas, and Yuriria
One of the goals is to position the State as a national benchmark for tourism with vision, authenticity, and citizen participation.
