Summer Operation 2025 “Migrant Heroes” kicks off in Guanajuato

The Government of the People, in coordination with the various levels of government, welcomes our fellow citizens, with the support of institutions and the protection of the law. It declares itself ready with preventive actions, assistance, and guidance to address complaints and collaborate for a peaceful and safe return to Guanajuato.
On behalf of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Múnoz Ledo; Secretary of Government Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona formally launched the 2025 Summer Operation “Heroes paisanos” (Countrymen Heroes) in Guanajuato. Jorge Daniel was with the Head of the Representation Office of the National Migration Institute in Guanajuato and other Authorities and Officials who watch for the protection of Guanajuatenses who return to their homeland.
“In Guanajuato, we wholeheartedly celebrate the return of our fellow countrymen. There are two significant dates, one in December and the other in July, when our fellow countrymen take the opportunity to return to their communities. For 36 years, this effort has allowed us to integrate the work and resources of all three levels of government to care for our migrants who return to visit us along the way and ensure they arrive home confident that their rights are well protected,” said the Secretary of Government.
The State Official said that they share the commitment of the Federal Government and the municipalities to assist our countrymen and women along their route and during their stay in Guanajuato and he added that “We are ready to address all complaints, resolve doubts, and expedite procedures, so that each person’s story is one of joy and peace.”
Jimenez explained that the People’s Government joins with strength and conviction this special summer 2025 operation, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to support our fellow countrymen and women who visit us throughout the year, because love for Guanajuato and Mexico is carried in the heart, transcending any customs and any distance.
The Secretary of Human Rights joins the Heroes Paisanos operation every year to ensure that Guanajuato migrants receive comprehensive assistance upon their return to Guanajuato for the upcoming vacation period.
As one of the main actions in this operation, the Secretary offers the “MigranTeQuiero” Program, which seeks to provide assistance to Guanajuatense migrants in USA through its four Liaison Offices, located in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Antonio; on the border, through collaboration agreements with the National Migration Institute; and in Guanajuato, through the provision of support and assistance with various procedures and services.
Education services for migrants
Meanwhile through the Institute of Adult Literacy and Basic Education (INAEBA), in coordination with the Undersecretary for the Care of Migrants and Their Families, free education services will be offered from July 1 to August 3 to returnees, repatriated migrants, or their families. They will be able to obtain their primary or secondary school certificate with a single exam.
The requisits are:
- For primary school: present CURP
- For secondary school: present CURP and primary certificate
Service modules will be set up in these municipalities:
- Leon, San Francisco del Rincon, Moroleon, Irapuato, Celaya, San Luis de la Paz, Silao, and Dolores Hidalgo, at strategic locations such as bus stations, City Halls, and main squares
