With the firm commitment to be close to those who need it most, the President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF System, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, visited the inhabitants of the community of San Pedro de Ibarra in Ocampo, to deliver support to families who were affected by the intense rain that caused flooding in the area.

As part of the immediate response to this emergency situation, more than 350 food pantries with basic food products, 500 blankets, 500 mats, as well as more than a thousand cleaning items were distributed, including brooms, mops, buckets, cleaners, water squeegees, scouring pads, fibers and soap, more than 2,600 pieces of toilet paper, all of this to support families in the cleaning and recovery of their homes.

“At the People’s Volunteer Program and the State DIF System, we are not immune to the pain and need of our Guanajuatense families. We are here to support them, to provide them with what they need most at this time, and, above all, to let them know they are not alone,” said Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza.

The People’s Volunteers collaborated in the collection, playing a key role in coordinating the collection and delivery of aid in these types of emergencies. The solidarity of the public, as well as the coordination between the municipal and state DIF systems, has allowed aid to arrive in a timely and effective manner.

The visit also included the participation of General Director Jose Alfonso Borja Pimentel, who encouraged people to continue bringing donations of non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, household goods, and cleaning supplies to the collection centers.

Pimentel said that this delivery of donation is just the first of several that will be delivered during the collection campaign, which is scheduled to last until the end of July.

“Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant difference in the recovery of affected families,” said Borja Pimentel.
