During 2024, the State Training Institute offered 8,579 courses and trained 77,242 people

“We want people in Guanajuato to have the necessary skills to develop themselves,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo during the broadcast of her program Connecting with People, which this time featured Salomon Ceballos Ochoa, General Director of the State Training Institute (IECA).
In 2024, the IECA offered 8,579 courses and trained 77,242 people. One of these success stories is Adelaida Mendez, who received training in tractor-trailer truck operation.
“She’s an inspiration to a lot of women and has already been certified to carry loads to the United States and soon to Canada,” said the State Governor.
Another Guanajuato native who took advantage of IECA courses is Lolita Cabrera, a resident of the Jalpa de Canovas community who makes sweets and preserves. She has taken more than 70 workshops to improve her business, explained Libia Dennise.
“These training sessions are for everyone, but today what we want is for women in Guanajuato to achieve economic independence that allows them to make decisions freely,” said the Governor.
Libia Dennise explained that women who have their Pink Card will receive a 20 percent discount on training services offered to the social sector at any of the 31 IECA training units.
“Starting this May, all women ages 15 and older will be able to access free, in-person training courses on the IECA website:

Eighty percent of the courses, workshops, and diplomas are practical, and only 20 percent are theoretical. Upon completion, the IECA issues a certificate registered and endorsed by the Ministry of Public Education and stamped by the General Directorate of Training Centers.
The Governor explained that when companies arrive in Guanajuato, one of the points to consider is staff training. “When a new company arrives in Guanajuato, it often touches ground with the IECA, due to the importance of the courses and training for their businesses,” said the Governor.
The sectors with the greatest demand for IECA services are metalwork, transportation-logistics, agro-industry, automotive-auto parts, food processing, textiles, commerce, and footwear. The most highly trained sectors are business, education, social services, and government.
“This Institute not only trains people who want to work in companies that come to Guanajuato, but also trains young university graduates and anyone from neighborhoods and communities who want to pursue training”, explained Salomon Ceballos.
