Libia Dennise emphasized that bees are essential to life on our planet because they pollinate many plants, including agricultural crops and wildflowers. Therefore, it is our responsibility to care for and protect them, the Governor said.

Libia congratulated the girls, boys, and adolescents who participated in the contest, which aims to raise awareness among children and young people about the importance of bees and the need to protect them.

” I want to acknowledge this initiative by the Guanajuato Secretary of Farming, and above all, congratulate all the winners of this contest. These drawings are very natural expressions of our children, who have a clear sense of caring for our planet,” said Libia Dennise.

“And speaking about responsibility, what better way to celebrate than with this award for Beekeeper of the Year, which we presented to Susana Patino Paredes. Congratulations, Susana. Thank you for continuing this tradition of honey production, spanning three generations in your family, and for your love of beekeeping,” the Governor emphasized.

Libia said that Guanajuato has approximately 1,228 apiaries managed by 409 beekeepers. The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Rural Affairs, will continue to support them with the delivery of queen bees, bee nuclei, breeding chambers, honey trays, among other items.

Also, with training and technical assistance. This year, they will receive support with the purchase of 372 tons of high-fructose corn syrup (55%) and 22,000 bee nuclei, benefiting 466 beekeeping production units.

This represents an investment of nearly 7 million pesos, of which 2 million pesos are State contributions and the remainder is provided by the beneficiaries, the Governor added.

Children and young people ages 6 to 18 participated in this competition. The top four places in each category received a trophy and a bicycle. Second and third place winners received a diploma, a drawing kit, and beehive-derived products.
