Since its creation, the squad has handled 64 cases and managed to prevent payments to criminals for more than 5.5 million pesos

The Secretary of Security and Peace strengthens its commitment to the people of Guanajuato by launching the number 800 – TE CUIDO (832 8436), the new direct attention line of the Anti-Extortion Squad, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The new service aims to accelerate the attention and support provided by this specialized group, in order to provide immediate advice to those who are victims of extortion attempts and to completely stop this crime that uses fear as its main weapon.
Since its creation, the Anti-Extortion Squad has registered:
- 64 cases
- 38 were reported directly thanks to outreach actions
- 16 were received through the 911 Emergency System
- 10 through the 089 Anonymous Report number
This trend confirmed the need for an exclusive line, in order to allow victims to receive direct attention and specialized guidance from the staff of the Secretary of Security and Peace.
Thanks to the intervention of the squad in different municipalities through intelligence work, field research, office research, patrols, surveillance in strategic areas and direct support to victims, more than 5.5 million pesos were prevented from reaching the hands of criminals.
The Anti-Extortion Squad is part of Axis 5 of the Operational Coordination strategy of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force (CONFIA) and has become an important mechanism to stop extortion attempts and guide citizens on its different forms, as well as provide tools to recognize and avoid scams.
The Secretary of Security and Peace of the State of Guanajuato invites citizens to use:
- 800 – TE CUIDO (832 8436) to report any extortion attempt
- 911 and 089 continue operating as reporting channels
- Don’t believe in threats and don’t give in to fear
- Report to the CONFIA program
