Sweetening our own life is not only about seeing things in a positive or joyful way, it is also about enjoying a delicious sweet, especially if it is made in Guanajuato.
Now Guanajuatenses living in the United States or in some other country can taste a homemade candy made of milk or honey that will make them feel like they are in their homeland.
In Celaya, the traditional cajeta was born, and the product reaches the United States to delight the palates of countrymen and Americans and now to your home through the screens of TV4 and the social networks of COFOCE with the series Con Sabor a Guanajuato.
“They have maintained the tradition of making cajeta in a traditional way, with their copper bowls, with wooden scoops and goat’s milk, the same quality is still maintained, no type of machine has been used, everything is still hand made, as it is described, traditional”, said Oswaldo Garcia, Sales Manager of cajetas “La Tradicional de Salgado”.
They have added value to this sweet family tradition by creating delicious milk sweets and even producing sugar-free products so that everyone can enjoy this product.
“In the company, only two of us did everything, and little by little it grew, it was a company of 4 or 5 people all relatives, then we started hiring people, the business grew, and now there are some 80 different products, guava rolls, milk sweets, sugar-free line, etcetera,” said Andres Lopez, Production Director of “La Tradicional de Salgado”.
Meanwhile in the community of Duarte, in Leon, honey is produced by the company Reserva de la Reina, another proudly Guanajuatense company that also exports its honey products to the United States.
“We are dedicated to the production of honey and its transformation, we transform honey and its derivatives; people normally see bees and it is honey, but this is honey, pollen, propolis, jelly, wax, bee venom, pollination, sale of nuclei, sale of hives, there are like 10 products that can be obtained from beekeeping”, said Eduardo Ortiz, manager of Reserva de la Reina.
Thanks to fairs like the one organized in Miami and the participation of COFOCE in it, Guanajuatense products like these typical sweets from the region can be exported to other countries.
COFOCE has supported these companies with links, fairs, among other as a key boost for their exports.
