“One of the challenges that people ask us the most is how we can restore peace; I want to tell you that you have our full support, but we also need yours for better coordination work and good results”, said Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo, when presiding over the 66th Ordinary Session of the ‘State Commission of Secretaries of Public Security or their Equivalents’.
The Governor swore in the members of this Commission, made up of the Secretary, Undersecretaries and Coordinators of Security and Peace, and heads of Public Security of the 46 Municipalities of Guanajuato.
During the Session, progress and results of municipal commitments regarding security in each locality and the current state panorama were presented.
“Today, those who lead each of the municipalities in the State territory are gathered at this table; this great commitment to recover peace in Guanajuato is one of the challenges that people ask us the most; I want to tell you that you have our full support and by working together we will have better results,” said the Governor.
Libia urged those present to work closely with municipal, state and federal security agencies, where coordinated action can help reduce the indicators of criminal acts.
“Today I want to make this call to you to work together, to understand that the most important thing for us is to be close to you, to strengthen your capabilities, and to support each other in everything we can.
“I ask you to truly join forces for Guanajuato. You will not be alone, but we also want to feel supported by you; that there is an effort of everyone,” said the Governor.
The Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, also urged municipal public security officials to use assertive communication to achieve effective results.
“Be assured that I will be a facilitator of the things that are required, but, above all, I ask that there be assertive communication and, if we prevent scenarios, we will be able to save ourselves many things”, said Juan Mauro.
“It is not about blaming each other, things can be done if we all work together, if we have a direct and assertive communication channel, without any political purpose; communicate and be close to the people. This also has an impact at the municipal level,” said the Secretary.
