According to the National Meteorological Service, the forecast for Guanajuato for the following days is of very heavy rains, caused by the low pressure with cyclonic potential on the coasts of Quintana Roo

Given the presence on the coasts of Quintana Roo of a low pressure with cyclonic potential that is approaching the Yucatan Peninsula, very heavy rains are forecast to occur in Guanajuato, in the following hours and during the weekend according to the National Meteorological Service -SMN-.
For this reason, the SMN issued the forecast for the States of Mexico that could be affected by some relevant meteorological system, to date the center of the low pressure is located off the coasts of Campeche and Tabasco, causing cloudiness and rain in the Yucatan Peninsula, southeast, east and center of the country.
This system during its formation and movement will interact with a monsoon phenomenon, therefore, according to the extended forecast, cloudy days are expected with the probability of very heavy occasional rains with winds that could reach 50 to 70 kilometers per hour in Guanajuato.
The rainfall caused by this meteorological phenomenon, during the next few days could reach an accumulated amount of 200 to 250 millimeters of water in Guanajuato.
Therefore, the State Public Security Secretary recommends that the population be informed and pay attention to the weather forecast, since these rains can cause landslides, floods and increases in rivers and streams.
The State Secretary of Public Security, through the State Coordination of Civil Protection, maintains permanent communication and coordination with:
- The National Coordination of Civil Protection, the National Center for Disaster Prevention, the National Meteorological Service of the National Water Commission, the Municipal Civil Protection Coordinations
The Secretary also maintains this communication with emergency bodies such as:
- The SUEG, the Firefighters Association of the State of Guanajuato, and the Firefighters Corps in the State, the State Delegation of the Red Cross and its Delegations in the Municipalities, agencies, institutions and organizations that are in the Operations Room of the C5i State System of the State Public Security Secretary, as well as with the operational members of the State Civil Protection Council
