The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato inspired nine Mexican States to structure their own Tourism Observatory, an organization that positioned Guanajuato as a leader in the generation and use of data from the tourism sector in Mexico.
In the celebration of the XXX National Congress of the Meetings Industry (CNIR), at Poliforum Leon, Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, signed a collaboration agreement with the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, Juan Enrique Suarez del Real Tostado; and the Secretary of Tourism of Campeche, Mauricio Arceo Pina.
The agreement, which strengthens inter-institutional cooperation through a strategic alliance based on principles of equality, mutual respect and common interest to rationally take advantage of the tourist capital of their respective regions, has also been signed with Aguascalientes, Colima, Jalisco, Morelos , Queretaro, San Luis Potosi and Zacatecas, during the administration of Alvarez Brunel.
“Thank you for trusting in Guanajuato the tourism industry will be strengthened and integrated. One day we will have standardized indicators and our own indicators in each of the territories, which will help us make decisions for the good of Tourism in Mexico”, said the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato.
The signing also unites efforts and resources aimed at implementing the creation of a standardized methodology and homogeneous indicators to create a standardized Measurement and Evaluation System among Tourism Observatories, as part of the development of stage ONE of the Support Scheme of the State Tourism Observatory of Guanajuato -OTEG-.
“The OTEG is an extraordinary tool and Guanajuato is a pioneer in it, they have experience and a proven methodology. We appreciate the accompaniment, support, and backing of the SECTUR team to learn and work on how tourism behaves and make good decisions in our States,” declared the Secretaries of Tourism of these States.
