Governor recognizes BBM students

40 insignias are awarded, 6 recognitions to color guards and 6 to marching band commanders

“Discipline and values ​​must continue, they are important. I can tell you, with all sincerity, that I am very proud of all of you”, said Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, at the ceremony for the imposition of insignia on students of the Bivalent Militarized Baccalaureate -BBM-.

With these insignia, students obtain a militarized rank, derived from their academic, disciplinary and leadership performance.

The grades awarded are:

• First Class Students, Cadet First Sergeants, Cadet Second Sergeants and Cadet Corporals

These promotions are conferred on cadets with the scope and legality only for disciplinary and training aspects in curricular, extracurricular and other activities of the cadet corps.

The Governor also gave recognition to students from the 6 BBM campuses for their work in the disciplines of color guard and marching band.

The Governor said that, if education in Mexico was supported with values ​​and discipline, generations of students would form a better country.

“I feel very proud and honored to witness this evolution that high schools have had. This high school model is a resounding success, because it builds character with discipline,” said the Governor.

The BBM First Light Battalion, known as ‘Militarized High School’, was created at the initiative of Governor Rodriguez Vallejo, as a transversal security and education strategy, aimed at reconfiguring the social fabric.

This education subsystem is a national benchmark, and at the end of this State Administration, it has an enrollment of almost 2,500 students in the 6 schools located in:

• Acambaro, Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo, Irapuato and Leon

The system offers a new education approach determined by the values ​​of training, integrity and honor, adding professionalization in the technical careers of Cybersecurity, Civil Protection and Citizen Security. 

Present at this event were the Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez Campos; the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, Jorge Enrique Hernandez Meza, as well as legislative authorities and the BBM campuses.
