More than 3 thousand students from Leon enjoy a virtual visit to the Prado Museum

To offer a space-time journey through the imagination, as well as encouraging students to look closely and attentively, their visual sensitivity, to stimulate the critical spirit among young people with the idea of art as a “mirror”, as well as putting the students in the shoes of the artist to stimulate their creative abilities, the visit and talk “Journey to the heart of Art” was held at the Del Prado Museum in Spain.
This activity was carried out in person at the Roberto Plasencia Saldaña Bicentennial Theater, through a talk where a virtual visit was made to the rooms of the Prado Museum and some of the works contained therein were seen.
Nearly 30 educational schools from the Leon Regional Education Delegation participated in this project, where more than 3 thousand students from different education institutions enjoyed the magic of virtually touring the prestigious and beautiful Prado Museum.
Exploring the Museum’s collection and a selection of temporary exhibitions virtually, with the gigapixel technology of Second Canvas, allows the virtual visitor to tour the rooms and spaces as well as appreciate details in some works digitized in high resolution.
In the thematic tours and virtual exhibitions, guided tours with audio tours are additionally offered, so the nearly 3 thousand students who benefited from this project enjoyed it to the fullest.
Once this talk was finished, they visited the Guanajuato Museum of Art and History where a guided tour was conducted by the museum staff, mainly to the exhibition section within the premises with activities prepared especially for these groups.
A large part of the students enjoyed the visit to the museum, since it is a place where you learn, enjoy, observe patiently, tell stories and feel all kinds of emotions.
