With the participation and coordination of public security authorities from the three levels of government, as well as the different emergency bodies, a state of force of 1,220 elements was established with the support of 76 units of all types, for surveillance and protection tasks during the 28th edition of the ExpoAgroalimentaria Guanajuato 2023 to be held from October 7 to 10 in the city of Irapuato.
The security coordination meeting of this international event was held in person at the facilities of the C5i State System under the direction of the Secretary of Public Security of the State Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini; the Undersecretary of Security Martin Octavio Luque Lucio; the Commander of the XVI Military Zone, Brigadier General DEM Enrique Garcia Jaramillo, as well as the Secretary of Municipal Citizen Security of Irapuato Ricardo Benavidez Hernandez.
Secretary Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, on behalf of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, thanked the participation of the institutions and representatives of the three levels of government to provide security and attention to emergencies in this great event that represents a window to the world. for Guanajuato and its population. For this reason, he said, we must act with caution because everyone is watching Guanajuato.
He pointed out that this type of reunions is very important, since after several previous work sessions with all the institutions involved, the closures of the Systemic Operational Plan –PSO- are finally presented by the General Commissary of the Public Security Forces of Guanajuato, as well as the Special Contingency Plan by the State Coordination of Civil Protection.
The Secretary of Public Security of the State said that in terms of security, the PSO must adjust to the needs of the participants of the event itself, in such a way that the preparations in the premises of agricultural machinery and inputs have been considered, with the support of the National Guard on federal highways that cross the states of San Luis Potosí, Queretaro, Michoacan and Jalisco, until reaching their final destination in Irapuato. These same measures, he said, will be in force at the conclusion of the event.
When presenting the Systemic Operational Plan on security, the General Commissioner of the FSPE, Miguel Angel Torres Duran, explained that the main goal of the operations for Expo-Agroalimentaria 2023 is to generate and strengthen a security environment among exhibitors, suppliers and visitors to the event, guaranteeing their integrity and property, in coordination with the participating authorities for the preservation of order and public peace, since organizers expect to have some 120 thousand attendees and 650 exhibitors from 52 countries.
Also, he said that the public security corporations of the three levels of government and the emergency response bodies participate in this Systemic Operational Plan.
