To guarantee the educational continuity of sons and daughters of migrants, the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, SEG, through Regional Delegation I, concludes the 2022-2023 school year for 49 children and adolescents who complete their undergraduate studies at the basic level.
Full of emotion and pride, advisors accompanied by mothers and fathers of the family, witnessed the culmination of the grade for 14 girls and boys of initial level, 19 preschoolers and 16 primary school graduates; who were cared for in Migrant Education Centers -CEM- of the municipalities of Dolores Hidalgo and San Diego de la Union.
Jesus Emmanuel Beltran Rodriguez, advisor at the CEM in the rural community El Ramillete, Dolores Hidalgo, was happy and proud to serve groups of girls and boys who must move from their place of origin, but who maintain the motivation to learn and improve themselves and, with the support of their families, they give them the recognition that they deserve to attend classes and that the academic preparation will give them the opportunity to improve their living conditions.
“We as educational advisors learn a lot from them, they share with us their desire to excel and the motivation that they have; without a doubt, it is gratifying to see that the work we do in the CEMs has a positive impact on their academic progress, as well as on their lives”, noted Beltran.
Maribel Duran, a primary school graduate at CEM El Ramillete, commented that “the most important about studying is learning and being closer to achieving my dreams. I feel amazing to have finished elementary school and I am excited to continue my studies in high school.”
In region I of the SEG, the municipality of Dolores Hidalgo was the only one to operate CEM permanently, and as of this year, San Diego de la Union was added to the program, which made it possible that during the 2022-2023 school year, they assited 601 girls and boys from preschool to secondary school.
The Secretary of Education of Guanajuato informed that it is a priority to encourage everyone to go to school, with safe and healthy spaces for their training, aspects that are placed as strategic lines of the Social Pact for Education and the state strategy, “Contigo Sí”.
