The Secretary of National Defense, through the XII Military Region and the 16th Military Zone Commands announced Guanajuatenses that, in the operation to strengthen the strategy of security of the Mexican State, on March 23 of 2023, 700 elements of the Mexican Army and the National Guard arrived in Guanajuato.
The new staff are part of the Joint Task Force “Mexico” and came to Guanajuato to perform activities aimed to inhibit activities of organized crime and drug traffic, informed SEDENA.
The 700 elements were deployed in Leon, Irapuato and Celaya, municipalities of Guanajuato and will add their effort to inter institutional operations already in force in coordination with Authorities of the three levels of Government, to bring down the crime and homicide rates caused by organized crime and strengthen the rule of law, acting at all times with full respect to human rights, informed SEDENA.
With these actions the Mexican Army and the National Guard, reaffirm the indeclinable decision of the Federal Government to continue acting against organized crime, confirming the commitment to watch and safeguard the well being of civilians, guaranteeing peace and security of Mexicans, reports SEDENA.
