The State of Guanajuato awaits on this festive bridge on February 5, in commemoration of the Anniversary of the Mexican Constitution, the arrival of more than 278,000 visitors, who will generate an economic spending of more than 590 million pesos, predicts the Tourist Observatory -OTEG-, an institution of the Secretary of Tourism.
This weekend and until Monday, February 6, the arrival of more than 57,000 tourists to 1 to 5-star hotels is also expected, with an average occupancy of 43%.
“What hoteliers have told us is that there is a large influx of reservations. In Guanajuato we have unique destinations, with a great natural, cultural, historical and architectural heritage. Our municipalities continue to recover, this year the State is coming to resume historical tourist numbers,” said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato.
The forecast for the 3 main destinations of Guanajuato is:
- Leon 74 thousand visitors
- San Miguel de Allende 26 thousand visitors
- Guanajuato City 20 thousand visitors
Numbers, guests and spending:
- Leon expects a hotel occupancy of 51% with the arrival of more than 18,000 tourists, and spending for 154.6 million pesos
- San Miguel de Allende expects an arrival of more than 9,000 tourists, with an occupancy rate of 56% and spending of 85.4 million pesos
- Guanajuato City will present an occupation of 40% with an arrival of tourists greater than 7 thousand people and spending for more than 42.2 million pesos
“We have destinations, especially the 2 World Heritage Cities: Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, which are always in high demand. And Leon is also a destination that always attracts thousands of visitors. We also have the Leon State Fair, which this year has been a great party. It has been reconfirmed that the Leon Fair is the most important regional event of its kind in Mexico”, said the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato.
