The Gto Health System reports the seven main causes of disease that are making Guanajuatenses ill as the year began.
The Secretary of Health, Daniel Alberto Diaz Martinez reported that Guanajuato has a unique epidemiological surveillance system that monitors and concentrates information on the main diseases that afflict Guanajuatenses.
According to this common information system called SUAVE, in these first three weeks of 2023 the main causes of morbidity in Guanajuato are:
1.- Acute respiratory infections with a total of 38,830 cases in Guanajuato, representing a slight decrease in cases of -3.2% compared to last year
2.- Covid 19 is the second cause of disease with a cumulative of 39 thousand 706 positive people in 2022 while this year 2023 there are 8 thousand 823 people infected, with a decrease of -77.8 percent compared to last year
3.- Urinary tract infections in 2023 with a total of 4,794 cases in Guanajuato.
4.- Intestinal infections by other organisms with a total of 3,615 cases so far in 2023
5.- Ulcers, gastritis and duodenitis with 2 thousand 73 cases.
6.- Gingivitis and periodontal disease rank sixth in the causes of morbidity with 1,528 cases
7.- Acute medium Otitis, a condition that increased with 1,080 cases
Diaz Martinez recalled that Guanajuato has a solid, highly trained Health System for the care of the population without health rights, which totals more than 3.5 million inhabitants with more than 637 medical units available all over the State.
