Guanajuato marks the national difference in the supply of medicines and prescriptions to the population, reported the secretary of health, Daniel Alberto Diaz Martinez at the plenary session of the 2022 Annual Public Health Meeting.
Guanajuato has an outstanding participation in the Annual Public Health Meeting 2022 that takes place from November 23 to 25 in Acapulco, where the heads of the country’s health systems are concentrated.
Diaz Martnez said that Guanajuato maintains a 96.5% supply of medicines for the population, a percentage that doubles the national average for the supply of prescriptions.
And although there could be missing codes in the Gto Health System, it has been caused by the lack of supplies.
Diaz Martinez reported that the Health System Gto maintains the level of productivity and continues to accredit and certify more health units before the General Health Council.
“We are working on reducing the surgical deferrals in hospitals, improve dignified treatment and continue to build more units such as the Irapuato Specialty Tower and the first Health Center in Xichu belonging to the Health System Gto”, said Diaz Martinez.
Daniel Diaz said that in Guanajuato today there are fewer federal resources for health compared to other administrations, however, the challenge is how to provide coverage to 3.7 million inhabitants without rights and thus prevent them from becoming impoverished by having to pay for medicines or materials for a heart or brain problem and that people in Guanajuato without IMSS or ISSSTE do not have to sell their stuff to finance surgery.
“That is the challenge, the gratuity that has been made effective in Guanajuato by instructions of the governor, Diego Sinhue”, said the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato.
Diaz Martinez reported that the health model that the state has and that did not adhere to the Federal INSABI is a watershed in the care of the population that has yielded tangible results.
For example, said Diaz, the supply of medicines for children with cancer is one of the points to be discussed in this national meeting, because compared to other States, in Guanajuato there has been no lack of these medicines, on the contrary, good accounts have been delivered.
This has allowed Guanajuato to stand out as the most transparent State in health spending, with the strength of more and better health personnel.
In addition, new medical units continue to be built and personnel hired, and the improvement of health services in the 46 municipalities and that is why successful experiences are shared at the Annual Health Meeting, closing the year with a successful health policy.
