The Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE) supported a business with more than 50 years of history, to turn i tinto an export company; The company Macetera Silao makes more than 80 different sizes and models of pots with the best clay and soil from the Guanajuato region.

It is a family business created by Don Alfredo Hernández Gallegos, who was a nurseryman and created pots to meet the needs back in that time when there were no plastic plastic pots. Todsay the company is run by the grandson of the founder, who, as a result of the pandemic, had the vision to start exporting his clay pots to buyers in the United States.

“We sell our clay pots in approximately 80% of the national territory, so in many parts of the republic you can see our products; and we were lucky that in Guadalajara an American buyer was looking for a supplier and saw our pots, so we had a visit from him and we became his new supplier due to the huge shortage of suppliers due to the pandemic”, said the General Director of Macetera Silao.

“He came to us through the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development, since he needed support in the export process”, said Nelin Rodriguez , Strategic Consultant for the International Promotion of Crafts, Decoration and Furniture of COFOCE.

Macetera Silao has been exporting its products for about two years especially to the United States, its main destination country.

Its products are currently sold in decoration and home supply stores such as Pacific Home & Garden, among others.

From their first export to date they have made more than 20 shipments and the support of COFOCE specialists was a fundamental piece for the success of these international sales.

Macetera Silao’s goal is to continue growing and consolidating projects with new clients, as well as reaching more destinations such as countries in Europe and Asia.
