Guanajuato/Gto News
This week the Secretary of State will start vaccinating children between 5 and 11 years of age, after 102,000 Pfizer doses arrived in the State last Saturday; informed the secretary of health, Daniel Alberto Diaz Martinez.
The plan is to vaccinate a total of 500,000 minors from Guanajuat; starting with this first delivery of doses, about 100,000 kids will be vaccinated.
The health minister explained that first those children who have the order of a judge will be vaccinated, the vaccination will be in the Pediatric Specialty Hospital of Leon and in the Mother and Child Hospital of Irapuato between Tuesday and Thursday of this same week .
After that about 100,000 minors will be vaccinated in this age range, this could be between Thursday and Friday of this week.
Doctor Fatima Melchor, State Head of Epidemiology, urged parents to previously register online.
Melchor invited the population to register. The vaccine, she insisted, does not prevent contagion, but it does prevent serious forms of the virus from developing, and even death.
Melchor noted that the increase in cases has been significant even greater than in 2020.
Melchor commented that a very intense wave of contagion is expected with a greater number of infections.
It is essential not to lower our guard and continue with preventive measures like:
- Hand washing
- Use of a face mask
- Avoiding Greetings with a kiss
- Avoiding crowded places and activities indoors
