The Governor announced the investment of 3 million pesos by the State and 1.5 million pesos by the Municipality for the first campus of the CECyTE, located in Cueramaro

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the ceremony to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the College of Scientific and Technological Studies –CECyTE- Guanajuato, an event held at the Cueramaro Campus, as it was the first CECyTE campus to start operations in Guanajuato in 1992.
“30 years have passed and the CECyTE is not only a reality in the education in Guanajuato; it has also become a fundamental pillar in the offer of technological education for young Guanajuatenses. Here, young Guanajuatenses find a cutting-edge educational model,” said the Governor.
The State Government will allocate 3 million pesos to this campus, plus 1.5 million pesos of Municipal sources, for the construction of an administrative room and maintenance and rehabilitation works, the Governor announced.
In the celebration of this anniversary, awards were given to four collaborators who have provided their services to CECyTE for three decades.
The recognized collaborators are:
- Juan Antonio Cabrera Aguirre, from the Cueramaro campus
- Maria Isabel Ornelas Mendoza, from the Cueramaro campus
- Rosa Martha Rodriguez Rodriguez, from the San Diego de la Unión campus
- Ricardo Núnez, from the San Diego de la Union campus
As part of the celebrations, the Governor unveiled a commemorative plaque, and recognized the contribution of former Mayor of Cueramaro, J. Jesus Espinoza Trujillo. As well as Mr. Armando Murillo Lopez and Mr. J. Refugio Alvarado Cisneros, who each donated 1 hectare of land for the school in 1992.
It was in November 1992 when the history of CECyTE began, through a Government Decree Number 31, published in the Official State Government Newspaper number 89.
In its first year of operations, the Cueramaro campus was joined by the Salamanca, San Diego de la Union, San Luis de la Paz and Villagran campuses, reaching an enrollment of only 573 students.
Today the CECyTE Gto., has coverage in 40 municipalities through 56 campuses, in which it has provided academic excellence to more than 134 thousand Guanajuatenses.
The education offer went from only offering a technological baccalaureate, to adding 32 technical majors with scientific, technological and humanistic preparation.
For over 30 years, CECyTE has generated strategic alliances with 326 companies and public and private institutions, to strengthen the skills and competencies of its students.
With the Dual Training model, CECyTE has created more development opportunities for the student community, with the opportunity to work in international companies such as Volkswagen.
Today CECyTE has certification of labor skills, training men and women who stand out with Mindfacture and Industry 4.0 projects.
