With contagious energy and the participation of enthusiastic young Guanajuatenses, the second edition of the Recharged2 Robot Battle began, an event that is already revolutionizing the technological scene in Guanajuato, highlighting the importance of robotics and critical thinking in education from basic to the most advanced levels.
The first day of this electrifying event brought together 30 top-level teams, that engaged in adrenaline-filled battles between robots designed and built by the team-members. Made up of four students and one teacher, each team faced the challenge of navigating a cage full of obstacles, where creativity, innovation and robotics knowledge were put to the test in each battle.
On the first day, some teams shone with their own light: Der Denker of the University of Celaya; Kimeratekku Ob Doragon of the Technological University of Leon; Iron Strikers of the UPP of Penjamo, and Mech Warrior of the ITESG of Guanajuato, were the semifinalist teams in the 23-pound robot category.
The Eagle Destroyer team of the Universidad Tecnologica del Norte de Guanajuato, led by Dolores Hidalgo; Lobotronix of the UPJR, led by Juventino Rosas; the Mech Warriors team of ITESG; and the Robotic Road Runners of the UPB in Silao, placed as semifinalists in the 20-pound category, by showing a perfect mix of ingenuity and technical skill, overcoming challenges with innovative solutions that will take them to the final phase of the tournament, next Friday, September 20.
The Recharged Robot Battle is not just a show, but a development and learning platform that seeks to foster technological and scientific skills in young people of all ages. This event aims to spark interest in areas such as automation and educational robotics, teaching skills that are essential in a world where artificial intelligence and automation are redefining entire industries.
Through these types of initiatives, Guanajuato not only trains students in technology, but also prepares them to face the challenges of a future that moves at the speed of light.
“These events are a powerful tool in education, by facilitating learning and key skills that prepare us to excel in fields as varied as engineering, space exploration, logistics and scientific research”, said Paola Peredo, a student of Mechatronics Engineering at UTNG.
Some of the institutions that stood out for their participation in the Battle of the Recharged Robots included:
- The Technological Institute of Southern Guanajuato (ITSUR), the Technological University of Southwest Guanajuato (UTSOE), the Technological University of Salamanca (UTS), the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Acambaro (ITESA), the La Salle Bajio University (ULSA), the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Engineering Campus Guanajuato of the IPN (UPIIG IPN), the Technological Institute of Purisima del Rincon (ITSPR), and the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Salvatierra (ITESS) and other institutions
The Guanajuato Education Department is committed to continuing to promote these types of initiatives that not only strengthen the skills of young people, but also contribute to the economic development of the region.
