Governor wishes a safe trip to silver miners from 14 municipalities

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the ceremony to say goodbye to 107 “Silver Mining Travelers”, at the Guanajuato International Airport.
“In the State Government, we have this program that is one of my favorites, Viajeros Mineros de Plata, because it integrates values that we share, such as family unity, solidarity, respect for older adults, reunion and happiness”, said the Governor.
“The most important that we have in Guanajuato is the family, therefore, this program coordinated by the Secretary of Migrants and International Affairs of the State has the purpose of uniting parents with their children in the United States,” noted the Governor.
Through the program there is close coordination with clubs, organizations and federations of Guanajuato residents in the USA. It is specifically aimed at people between 65 and 85 year olds, originating or living in Guanajuato, so that they can reunite with their children who, due to geographical and migratory circumstances, they have not been able to see for more than 10 years.
Beneficiaries must have a Mexican passport valid for more than 1 year and have undocumented children who live in the United States and whom they have not seen.
The program consists of support on:
- Process management and support for the visa process
- Accompaniment from Guanajuato to the United States for those who were benefited by the embassy to obtain a Visa to spend 30 days with their children
This time a group of 107 older adults left and they will be accompanied to reunite with their families in Dallas, Texas.
The adults who travel are from:
- Acambaro, 3
- Apaseo El Alto, Celaya, Juventino Rosas, Romita, Salamanca and Victoria, 1 each
- Leon and Valle de Santiago, 2 each
- Dolores Hidalgo, 13
- Salvatierra, 5
- San Diego de la Union and Tarimoro, 4 each
- 68 from San Luis de la Paz
The Governor thanked the US Embassy and the Government of the United States of America for their invaluable support in obtaining the visas.
Rodriguez Vallejo recognized the work of the Migrant Secretary and International Affairs of Guanajuato for supporting the beneficiaries in the visa process, and for being close to accompany them in their doubts and concerns.
“I wish you an excellent trip, enjoy it,” said the Governor, who was with the President of the State DIF, Adriana Ramirez Lozano.
