“As Governor, it makes me proud that an already established company expands; the expansions means that they already trust in us, it is proof that they have had a good experience in Guanajuato,” said the Governor.
The ZKW Group is a company with more than 80 years of history; it was founded in Austria in 1938, today it is one of the leaders specializing in innovative premium lighting systems and electronics for mid- and high-end automobiles.
The Governor said that this company reflects the transition from manufacture to Mindfacture, as it is what is sought in Guanajuato for the future of work, with innovation, design and positioning of the State with young talent capable of competing with the world.
“We want companies like ZKW, that innovate, design and register patents in Guanajuato; We want our young Guanajuatenses to have a better quality of life and have better job opportunities with these companies,” said Rodriguez Vallejo.

In May 2022 ZKW announced the third expansion, Phase 3.1, of its plant in Silao; after a year of work, today it was inaugurated for the manufacture of headlights and central bar lamps for electric vehicles and SUVs of the BMW, Ford and General Motors brands.
Dominic Boulegue, General Manager of the ZKW Silao Plant, said that in this expansion the company invested 102 million dollars and 830 new jobs will be created; with this investment the company will reach 2,522 associates.
