During the days of the event, an average hotel occupancy of 61% was registered with 23,000 rooms occupied by 37,847 tourists

The WRC World Rally Championship, an event that was held from Thursday, March 16 to Sunday, March 19, 2023, exceeded expectations by registering:
- 595,000 spectators
- Economic benefit of 695 million pesos
Regarding attendance, this year, compared to 2019 -the last Rally in Guanajuato before it was suspended due to the Covid 19 pandemic- the WRC had positive numbers as it registered:
- 8% more spectators
- In 2019, 549,945 spectators were registered
The Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, through the Tourist Observatory –OTEG-, presented the results of the tourist activity of this event of the Sports Tourism segment in Guanajuato, which occurred at the same time as the celebration of the Holiday commemorating the Benito Juarez Day, which ran from Friday, March 17 to Monday, March 20, 2023.
OTEG informed that the information corresponds to the total tourist activity of the tourist destinations in Guanajuato on the dates described besides the impact of the World Rally Championship.
During the days of the event OTEG registered:
- Average hotel occupancy of 61%
- 23 thousand rooms occupied
- 37 thousand 847 tourists
- 25% more than in 2019
- With 30 thousand 269 tourists registered
In the 3 main destinations visited by tourists:
- Guanajuato Capital, Leon and Silao
- More than 37 thousand tourists in 1 to 5 star hotels were registered
- Guanajuato Capital registered the arrival of more than 8 thousand tourists to more than 4 thousand 500 hotel rooms
- Leon registered the visit of more than 22 thousand tourists to more than 15 thousand romos
- Silao registered the arrival of more than 6,000 tourists in more than 3,000 hotel rooms
The return of the Rally was spectacular. Guanajuato families and national and international tourists gathered at the main points of the competition to encourage the pilots and their crews.
This year, one of the main attractions was the stage of the Dunes, in Leon, where a route of more than 3 kilometers was set up in an area adapted to experience the rally in a place closer to the city. While the traditional Brinco de Silao was enjoyed by thousands of spectators.
Rock and Rally also returned to the State of Guanajuato with full force, with the group Panteon Rococo having thousands of fans and fans dancing in the Velaria in the Leon Mx District.
Another novelty this year was the “Monday Test” in Romita, an event that marked the start of the Rally activities and where internationally renowned drivers put their cars to the test among agave fields in the San Clemente Community.
Rally Guanajuato México was broadcast on television in more than 180 countries around the world with daily summaries, live stages and news highlights. In Mexico, TV4 -with an alliance with Rally television and Fox Sport- was the television station that broadcast all the details of the WRC to the screens in Mexico.
