SSG is already working in the logistics for the vaccination against influenza for the 2024-2025 winter season

Guanajuato is preparing for the start of the 2024-2025 winter health season that begins on October 7, 2024 and end on March 28, 2025.
Various activities are planned to work during this season, one of which is influenza vaccination, the number of doses that Guanajuato will have is still to be defined, reported the head of the Gto Health System, Ligia Arce Padilla.
Arce explained that influenza is a viral respiratory illness, similar to the flu, which is transmitted from person to person through droplets expelled when coughing, sneezing and talking.
Vaccination will begin in October, the date and day are still pending and it will be for the main risk groups:
- Children under 5 years old
- Pregnant women
- Older adults
- People with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, HIV, cardiovascular disease, lung disease or cancer
Other measure to avoid contagion is to apply the following recommendations:
- Wash your hands frequently
- When coughing or sneezing, cover your nose and mouth with the inside of your forearm or a disposable tissue
- Keep surfaces and your children’s toys clean
- Ventilate the rooms
Stay alert for symptoms:
- Fever higher than 38 °C
- Cough
- Headache, muscle pain and joint pain
- Congestion and runny nose
- General malaise
If you experience these symptoms, it is important not to self-medicate but to consult the nearest health professional.
