The Governor of Guanajuato leads the 3rd Ordinary Session of the State Public Security Council

“Our work is to continue generating conditions of peace and calm for the families of Guanajuato. Our shared effort is to yield results, so we must continue with this strategy”, said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, while presiding over the 3rd Ordinary Session of the State Public Security Council.
September was the month with the fewest intentional homicide victims, a significant 61 percent decrease compared to February of this year. This downward trend has now lasted seven months, according to figures released yesterday by the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System.
The Governor expressed her enthusiasm for participating in this session of the State Public Safety Council, which included the swearing-in of new members, the appointment of citizen advisors to the Board of Directors of the State Public Safety Training Institute (INFOSPE), and the replacement of representatives to the National Conference on Municipal Public Safety.
Libia Dennise welcomed the representatives of civil society organizations who were sworn in as part of this Council. “We are grateful for your generosity in sharing your time and expertise,” said Libia.
Your participation, the Governor said, “will be invaluable in each of the actions and strategies we undertake together.”
The Governor also thanked the new citizen advisors to the Board of Directors of the State Public Safety Training Institute.
“Your leadership, experience, and dedication will be essential in forging nationwide agreements and designing policies that strengthen security at the local level,” said the Governor about the participation of the Mayors of Penjamo and Dolores Hidalgo at the National Conference of Municipal Public Security.
The Governor insisted that on the path to building peace in Guanajuato, authorities have been expressed their commitment to the CONFIA Strategy. She called for continuing along the same path, working in coordination to achieve positive results in the fight against crime.
Libia announced that the State Government will promote a program in the municipalities to combat extortion; “to defeat those who steal the peace and tranquility of our beloved Guanajuato,” the Governor said.
