The security strategy to be implemented in Salamanca includes inter-institutional coordination, patrols by the authorities in charge of enforcing justice, and air patrols with helicopters from the State Public Security Forces, said Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, head of the Secretary of Security and Peace of Guanajuato.

“We are working on a project that will allow us to protect Guanajuato and have a presence in the Laja-Bajio region, not just in Salvatierra,” said the Secretary in the first interdisciplinary working reunion that brought together Federal, State and Municipal Authorities.

Juan Mauro said that “when there is information that allows for the operation or construction of investigative cases, it will be channeled to the Public Security Forces for processing, analysis and, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to carry out the investigations.”

Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, Secretary of Government of Guanajuato said that under the instructions of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, we have a permanent presence in the municipality of Salamanca, we are going to deliver results in terms of security and we will continue with mitigation and investigation actions.”

Jimenez Lona confirmed that as part of this strategic priority, 400 SEDENA elements arrived in Salamanca, while the State is providing air support by means of a helicopter for patrol, in addition to strengthening investigation and intelligence work and “information from the C-4 links will be shared with the C-5, to intervene more effectively.”

The meeting was also attended by Gerardo Vazquez Alatriste, Delegate of the Attorney General’s Office in Guanajuato, and the Mayor of Salamanca, Cwsar Prieto Gallardo; in addition to officials representing the Secretary of National Defense -SEDENA-, the National Guard and the Forces of the State of Guanajuato.
