Guanajuato is to the vangard in the use of renewable and clean energies in mobility, said the Governor of Guanajuato at the launching of the Program of Electric Mobility of Volkswagen

Guanajuato with the launching of the Program of Electric Mobility of Volkswagen, is at the vanguard in the application of renewable and clean energy in mobility systems.
Leading technology
The Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, noted that Guanajuato is proud of having Volkswagen Mexico in its territory, a company commited with applying technology for the benefit of the environment.
“We are proud to be witness of the presentation of the new era of mobility Volkswagen Mexico with comercial vehicles and MAN buses, that use environment friendly energies, and which can be an efficient solution mobility for our State”, said the Governor.
Zero Impact
“They are units that take Volkswagen to the vanguard in matters of auto industry for freight and passengers. Through the strategy Zero Impact Factory, Volkswagen is on its way to become a ‘CO2 Neutral’ Company”, said the Governor.
When we have companies as allies like Volkswagen, said the Governor, the economic reactivation of Guanajuato is on the right way and our State will be one of the first States in Mexico in testing this type of transportation.
Growth is back
“In July we didn’t lose any jobs, on the contrary, we grew by 3,500 jobs, they are few if we compare them to the rythm we had before the pandemic, but it is important to say that only 6 States in Mexico had positive numbers in this indicator”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Guanajuato is the State without borders and with no shores that created more jobs in July; and the innovation that is being presented today is very important for Guanajuato, as it has a company like Volkswagen that is always a step ahead”, said the Governor.
Zero Impact
Steffen Reiche, CEO and President of Volkswagen Mexico, said that this German company has the global commitment to get to a Zero Impact in carbon emissions by the year 2050 and to reach this goal the productive plants of Guanajuato and Puebla are adopting actions to protect the environment.
“In Guanajuato we have found a modern vision in the State Government to support actions focused on growth, for the benefit of the population and the environment; that is why we are proud of being able to contribute to this vision with a modern, efficient and sustainable plant”, said Reiche.
Testing grounds
“Guanajuato will be the spear-head in the introduction of clean technologies in all of Mexico, our commitment with the environment does not end here, so we present the vision of Volkswagen with units that are cutting edge in the new era of mobility, by the year 2025 our goal is to sell more than one million electric vehicles in the world”, said Reiche.
These new electric vehicles from Volkswagen will have pilot tests in Leon, Guanajuato, in freight and personnel.
A new era
“We celebrate that Group Volkswagen is the company that goes on and enters a new era of mobility more efficient and friendly with the environment; electric mobility improves the quality of life of people as it completely puts out emissions. Also as we start to go to this new era, we will avoid the emission of tons of greenhouse gases, to bring down the effects of the climate change”, said Maria Isabel Ortiz Mantilla, the Secretary of Environment and Territorial Order.
“With this pilot project, in one year 18,000 liters of gasoline would not be used, this amount of gasoline is the same as 170 tons of carbon dioxide”, said Ortiz Mantilla.
Friendly energy
The units presented were Crafter, Transporter ABT, Autobuses Volkswagen that use natural Gas, Autobuses Volkswagen for urban and personnel transport and Autobus MAN for tourism that use energy that is friendly with the environment and which can be a choice for the efficient solution of mobility in the State of Guanajuato and Mexico.
