In celebration of Children’s Day, National Vaccination Week of the Americas kicked off in Guanajuato. “The best gift of love for children is vaccination,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

“For us as parents, our hearts ache when we see our children cry after a vaccine, but the reality is that we are aware that vaccination is a gift of love for our girls and boys; today, with this vaccine, they are receiving superpowers,” said the State Governor.

In this edition, the People’s Government, through the Secretary of Health, set up 950 vaccination posts, 612 of which are permanent in health centers. In addition, more than a thousand brigade members will tour neighborhoods and communities to deliver vaccines to the population.
The Governor emphasized that one of the main objectives is to complete vaccination schedules for children, adolescents, and adults.
“This week, we will be promoting equitable access to vaccines and maintaining intense activity to achieve three goals: the first is to keep the State free of polio, measles, rubella, congenital rubella syndrome, and maternal and neonatal tetanus”, said the Governor.

“The second is to move toward eliminating hepatitis B, cervical cancer, bacterial meningitis, and yellow fever outbreaks, and the third is to promote vaccination against the human papillomavirus in adolescents,” emphasized Libia Dennise.
The Governor appealed to parents: “Getting vaccinated is protecting what we love most: our families. Today, I invite you to answer the call of our brigades, go to health centers, and turn this act into a true gift of love.”

At this event, the Governor was with her husband and President of the State DIF, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, as well as the head of the State Secretary of Health, Gabriel Alfredo Cortes Alcala, health sector authorities, firefighters, and civil society representatives who responded to the call for vaccination.
With this event, Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to the health, prevention, and well-being of all.
