UVEG signs agreement to preserve historical memory

Officials sign a collaboration agreement between UVEG and the General Archive of the State of Guanajuato

Officials signed an agreement between UVEG Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato and the General Archive of the State of Guanajuato, which has as  its main objective to generate a culture of archive valuation and its recognition as a substantive axis of institutional activities.

The formalization of the collaboration agreement was carried out by Ricardo Narvaez Martinez Rector of UVEG and Cecilia Elizabeth Nila García , General Director of the General State Archive, who talked about the great importance of generating a rapprochement of the new generations and the historicity preserved by spaces whose vocation is guaranteeing access to information and protection of institutional memory. 

Ricardo Narvaez spoke in favor of linking the students of the Community Telebachilleratos to this valuable heritage: “The recognition of the essence of the origin, your State and your Country is of the highest value and the task given to you to safeguard the history of our State implies a great responsibility. For UVEG, this connection is a great source of pride because the knowledge stored here will be enhanced among our community of students, teachers and education community”. 

Recently, the Congress of Guanajuato passed a reform to the Law of Education and Law for Economic Development and Competitiveness where it establishes an innovative figure in education, and in Guanajuato we are the first State in Mexico that recognizes the concept of MICRECREDENTIALS, which will allow a training scheme and even certification of highly valuable skills and competencies in the different productive sectors.

Cecilia Elizabeth Nila praised the willingness to seek the development of the profiles of those who are entrusted with generating the noble work of preserving and promoting historical archives: “ Our collaboration will lay foundations that will allow both authorities to have significant elements that will give this criterion of analysis, certainty and a critical stance in the face of the need to prepare ourselves every day for the core role of the development of a democratic and transparent state government”.
