UVEG strengthens its continuing education programs with the opening of the Diploma in Oenology that will be offered on UVEG’s 100% online virtual platforms. “This program is designed for wine enthusiasts and industry professionals, as it will allow the exploration of the art and science behind this ancient drink”, said Ricardo Narvaez Martinez, Rector of the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato -UVEG-.
The Diploma in Oenology offers updated learning tools in the branch of viticulture, which will help students learn about sustainable practices, circular economy and carbon-neutral processes, in addition to addressing marketing possibilities, tasting and pairing services, wine-gastrotourism, as well as the future of the vine and wine.
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, Governor of Guanajuato, called on citizens to approach UVEG and learn about its academic offer: “I invite you to learn about UVEG’s training programs that reach an increasing number of students. Let us continue to make education and innovation the driving force of our state’s development; the response to many of the challenges is part of good preparation”.
The UVEG Diploma in Oenology stands out for the international collaboration of experts in wine matters who provide extremely important information about the production of this product in the different areas of their country; which will provide a broader panorama regarding history, its impact on Latin America, marketing possibilities, tasting and pairing services, food and wine tourism as well as the future of the vine and wine.
Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato , emphasized the importance of wine in Guanajuato as one of the main treasures in the gastronomic industry. “In this diploma on Oenology you will learn that the vine and viticulture are a fundamental part of the sustainable and gastronomic development of Guanajuato. Seeking to maintain the magic that resides between its cellars and vineyards, in short an opportunity that you cannot miss”.
Also highlighted was the participation of Elías Torres Barrera, President of the Guanajuato Grape and Wine Association , who mentioned the importance of studying this sector: “From the planting of the vine to the marketing of the wine, each step in the value chain adapts to market trends and consumer preferences.”
The Diploma in Oenology begins this Monday, July 8 in 100% online mode with a duration of 12 weeks and advised by experts in the field.
