The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato (UVEG) experienced a day filled with emotion and pride as it commemorated the academic completion of 2,708 students for the October-January 2025 period. In a ceremony held at the iconic Guanajuato State Auditorium, more than 550 graduates gathered to celebrate the end of a period marked by perseverance, self-discipline, and a desire for improvement.

From different corners of Mexico and the world, life stories intertwined in an event that made it clear that knowledge knows no borders. In this generation, students from different countries reflect UVEG’s international presence and global impact.

“Today we celebrate not only an academic achievement, but also the building of connections, collective learning, and a vocation that seeks to contribute to a more just and inclusive society. I deeply thank our families and loved ones for walking with us through this process. This is just the beginning of a new responsibility that we assume with awareness and commitment,” said Ignacio Duarte Escalera, a master’s graduate.

“Today we celebrate not only the attainment of a degree, but also the reflection of the silent effort, sacrifice, and determination of each and every one of you. This auditorium is filled with stories of overcoming challenges, of people who decided to say ‘yes’ to education even when it seemed unattainable,” said rector of UVEG Ricardo Narvaez Martinez.

“UVEG is not just a university; it’s a living, dynamic community that transcends physical and social barriers. Thank you for trusting us and for witnessing how virtual education transforms realities. What you have achieved today is just the beginning of everything you are destined to build,” said Narvaez.

“Today you have shown that, despite the challenges, you are capable of achieving your goals with discipline, commitment, and hope. This achievement is not only yours, but also that of your families and loved ones who accompanied you every step of the way. You are an example of what it means to educate yourself in uncertain times, with real sacrifices and a deep desire to excel,” said Aldelmo Israel Reyes Pablo, who expressed his admiration for the transformative spirit of the graduates.

The ceremony concluded with the official swearing-in of the new professionals, led by Reyes Pablo, representing the Secretary of Education, Luis Ignacio Sanchez, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the graduate’s careers.
