The Technological University of Leon celebrated its 28th anniversary; being the second Technological University in Mexico with the largest student population and the first in the Subsystem that services the most number of students with approximately 8 thousand students per school year.

Throughout the day, different activities were carried out for the university community, among which were the cutting of commemorative cakes in Campus Central and Campus II in their two shifts, the sports festival that promotes activation among its members and the community, as well as the broadcast of congratulatory videos by those who are and have been part of the UTL family, such as students, teachers, alumni, as well as representatives of the business and productive sector.
As part of the formal celebration activities, the commemorative protocol ceremony was held, where recognitions were granted to administrative and teaching staff who completed 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service in the institution.
A commemorative event was also held with the presence of Municipal and State authorities from the education and business sectors, as well as the opening ceremony with the cutting of the ribbon of the “Rectors’ Room” and the exhibition of photographs of the personalities who have been heads since the start of activities of this study house.
Yoloxochitl Bustamante Diez, Head of the UTL Rector’s Office, recalled the history of the development of education, including the creation of technological universities in Mexico and in Guanajuato, as well as the passage of the university through these 28 years.
The Official mentioned the opportunities and benefits that this education system has provided to youth and the great effort to be recognized as a higher education option in the region.
The Secretary of Education of the State of Guanajuato, Jorge Enrique Hernandez Meza, mentioned the joint work of the entire university community of the UTL, to make a difference in the education of the youth of Guanajuato and celebrated the effort, work and training focused on the student group working for a better future for Guanajuato.
Jesus Jonathan Gonzalez Munoz, General Director of Education of Leon, representing Mayor Alejandra Gutierrez, noted the commitment that the university has had with society in terms of social responsibility and how useful knowledge is to transform realities.
