In Guanajuato we see with great optimism and hope this new stage of the trade activity in North America, said the Governor of Guanajuato
COFOCE and the National Association of Importers and Exporters of Mexico signed an agreement to promote the Guanajuatense exporting companies

Tha start of USMCA is a new era that means the access to new opportunities of growth of exports and a greater investment for Guanajuato, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Today is an important day for Mexico and of course for Guanajuato because it is a great opportunity of growth and it marks the start of a new era in the economic relationship and the trade exchange in the area. The United States is the first trade partner of Mexico, and Canada is the third”, said the Governor.
A new era
“In Guanajuato, we see with great optimism and hope this new era of the trade activity in North America, because in the last years we have consolidated our economic growth thanks to the exports”, noted the Governor.
The Governor also said that in the last 25 years, the State GDP went from 324 thousand million pesos to 730 thousand millions, an amount that represents a growth of 125 per cent.
Rodriguez Vallejo recalled that in 1994, Guanajuato was in the 14th position in Mexico as a receiver of direct foreign investment. This was less than one per cent of the total foreign investment money.
Well positioned
And in 2018, the State even got to be ranked 4th, when Guanajuato received 7.2% of the total foreign investments in Mexico, informed the Governor. Rodriguez Vallejo also noted that total exports of the State in 2007 reached 6 thousand 425 hundred million dollars. While in 2019, they reached a total of 24 thousand 344 hundred million dollars. An increase of 279 per cent.
The Governor said that today in Guanajuato the exporting sector is formed by 1,086 companies, of which 86% are MiPyMes. “Our products are present in 126 countries”, said Rodriguez, and added that “This is very important information, and this has been achieved by entrepreneurs, with a vision, their work and social responsibility. They have achieved it with their workers”.
Signing alliances
Rodriguez Vallejo announced that COFOCE signed an agreement with the National Association of Importers and Exporters of the Mexican Republic. “This agreement, will be a very important lever for the activity of the companies with an exporting potential, and for those that are already exporting”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor thanked the Association for their willingness to add their expertise for the economic development and to the Guanajuatense companies.
The Association called ANIERM is well renowned in the exporting community in Mexico and abroad.
The health crisis
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo said that right now the economic situation is going through a delicate moment, because the national economy is stranded, a situation that was aggravated, said Rodriguez, because of the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, which has generated millions of unemployed all over the world.
Guanajuato is ready
“Opportunities are for those who take them, or of those who create them. And Guanajuato has not been inactive. We have acted together, society and Government, to protect the health and jobs in Guanajuato, we have a road to move ahead, the Plan de Accion Guanajuato and now with the start of the USMCA new opportunities of growth are appearing”, noted the Governor.
