“The commitment Government of the People is to bring culture closer to the population and there is no better example of the democratization of culture than a festival like the International Cervantino Festival,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo during the presentation of the United Kingdom and Veracruz as guest Countries and States at the Festival of the Spirit.
During this presentation held in Mexico City, the Governor of the State of Guanajuato welcomed the guests of honor, who will send their top cultural and artistic representatives for the next edition of the Fiesta del Espiritu, to be held from October 10 to the 26 of this year in Guanajuato.
“In Guanajuato, you will fall in love not only with the sones jarochos, not only with the great scenic and cultural wealth of the United Kingdom, but also with its alleys, you will get lost in its history, in its traditions, in its legends, in this beautiful mining town that today is a heritage that makes all of us Mexicans proud,” said Libia Dennise.
The Governor thanked Susannah Goshko, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Mexico, and Maria Xochitl Molina, Secretary of Culture of the State of Veracruz, who participated in this presentation.
The Governor of the People announced that the next edition of the FIC will feature the magic and passion that characterizes this event, which acts as a cultural window to the world and as an important element that transforms society. “Culture is fundamental when we talk about addressing the causes of the major problems facing the Country and our State,” she said.
“Mexico will be able to enjoy this International Cervantino Festival, which will put emphasis on the cultural wealth of this great country. I have always thought that culture unites us, that it allows us to build bridges and roads. We will live up to expectations!” said the Governor of the People.
The Secretary of Culture of the Government of Mexico, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, said that the next edition of the FIC intends to revitalize its essence and enhance its reach.
