Two new plants arrive in the automotive sector

Guanajuato opens two new automotive plants, Mubea and Hella, with 323 jobs and an investment for $75.4 million

The expansions strengthen the auto parts value chain and confirm Guanajuato as a leader in investment

Guanajuato strengthens its leadership in the automotive and auto parts industry with the inauguration of two major plant expansions in the Laja-Bajio region.

With a $60 million investment, Mubea inaugurated its new plant dedicated to the manufacturing of precision steel tubes. With this expansion, the company creates 200 direct jobs and reaffirms its commitment to clients such as General Motors, Stellantis, Ford, and Tesla.

Mubea, with a presence in 20 countries and 54 plants, is driving significant growth in North America from Guanajuato.

Meanwhile, Hella invested $15.4 million in the opening of its plant focused on the production of body control units, electronic power steering, and remote key fobs, among other components. This expansion creates 123 new jobs.

Hella has established itself as one of Guanajuato’s strategic partners with a cumulative investment of $46.5 million and a workforce of 245 employees in Guanajuato.

With the expansion in Amexhe, Hella’s operation in Apaseo el Grande has reached a total investment of $61.9 million and the creation of 368 direct jobs, strengthening the competitiveness and development of the area’s automotive industry.

The Undersecretary of Investment Attraction, Alejandro Hernandez, Fonseca, noted Guanajuato’s competitive position for taking advantage of Nearshoring.

“These investments translate into employment opportunities and are reflected in a better quality of life for the people in the area. From the People’s Government, we reaffirm our commitment to social and economic development,” said Hernandez.

With these two new projects, Guanajuato consolidates its position as a reliable investment destination, attracting targeted, complementary, and sustainable projects that put the State in the spotlight around the world.

The arrival of Mubea and Hella boosts competitiveness and economic development, with quality jobs and specialized talent. Guanajuato is advancing as an essential industrial hub in the Bajio region and Mexico.
