Guanajuato’s government financial institution has delivered support to merchants to enhance their supply and product stock

In just ten months of operation throughout the State, Tu Puedes Guanajuato has directly benefited the commercial sector by granting 1,554 loans, representing an investment of over 120 million pesos.
Ivon Padilla Hernandez, head of the agency, said that Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s accessible financing strategy has allowed small and medium-sized businesses to strengthen their sales, expand their inventories, and improve their services.
“When a business owner has access to affordable and timely credit, they can not only better stock their business, but also trust in their growth. What we have seen in Guanajuato is that each loan translates into more sales, more jobs, and more economic activity in the communities, along with the social impact that this generates,” said the Official.
Padilla Hernández reported that the loan program, “We Are With You”, is specifically aimed at merchants and market vendors. To date, members of 76 unions and associations within this sector across 20 municipalities have applied, and this financial stability has helped preserve more than 2,500 jobs.
“In the People’s Government, we strive to ensure that no business owner is left behind. We want credit to be a tool for inclusion, enabling families to live better lives and strengthening the local economy. These 120 million pesos are not just numbers: they represent stories of hard work and overcoming challenges in every municipality,” said Ivon.
Manuel Salazar, leader of merchants at the “Super Tianguis de Silao” spoke to his colleagues about his experience applying for the “Estamos Contigo” financing, designed exclusively for this sector, “the requirements are not many, to be honest. Unfortunately, some people get impatient, but if you have everything complete, they will give it to you.”
Melanie Murillo Chavez, mayor of Silao, urged the union to take advantage of all the options that the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, has for the sector.
“The Governor has never forgotten Silao, she has been there for many things in the city with her help and support, and that brings us together for more good things that can happen,” said Melanie.
Representing Secretary of Economy, Cristina Villasenor, Griselda Velazquez, Director General of Consumption and Supply of this department, urged the leaders not to lower their guard and to continue with that entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes them.
“Because you are the ones who shout at the customer, you are the ones who give the prices, who make the offers, you are the ones who move this economy here in Silao and in Guanajuato,” said Griselda.
With tangible results, Tu Puedes Guanajuato is consolidating itself as a public policy that completely changes the lives of sectors such as merchants who, with daily effort, sustain the commercial dynamics of Guanajuato.
