With an investment of more than 2 billion dollars and the creation of more than 3 thousand jobs, Toyota celebrates five years in Guanajuato. During this administration, the project was consolidated with 1,114 million dollars and 450 jobs.
The People’s Government, led by Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, provides certainty and continuity so that national and foreign investments –both established and future– trust in the productive ecosystem of Guanajuato.
The head of the Ministry of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, said that the arrival of the automaker to Apaseo el Grande not only marked a milestone in the local economy, but also laid the foundations for the prosperity that continues to benefit thousands of Guanajuatense families.
The plant located in Apaseo el Grande is focused to the assembly of the Tacoma Hybrid Electric (HEV) pickup truck, with the highest technology and innovation for the national and North American markets; its current production amounts to a total of 138 thousand units per year.
Toyota’s impact in Guanajuato goes beyond the plant. Its presence has strengthened the industrial ecosystem of the region, attracting suppliers, encouraging investment in infrastructure, technology exchange and promoting job training with global standards.
Today, the Laja-Bajio region is a world-class automotive hub thanks to the synergy between companies, workers and authorities committed to a sustainable development and prosperity.
Beyond production, Toyota has strengthened its commitment to Guanajuato through social and environmental initiatives. Technical education programs, sustainability projects and community outreach efforts have made the company a strategic ally for the region’s growth.
