The events in the State of Guanajuato are a guarantee, proof of this was the 8th. Edition of the “Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit” that had the participation of 11 Guanajuato municipalities, 15 states and 17 countries.

Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, with Fernando Mandri Bellot, President of the Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit, closed the SUMMIT activities at the Poliforum Leon, an event that for three consecutive years has been held successfully and , now, passed the baton to San Jose, Costa Rica, 2025 headquarters.

“Guanajuato is not the same after the SUMMIT. In three years we have evolved along with the themes of each edition: Change, Integration for collaboration, and Results that impact, commitments that inspire,” said the Secretary of Tourism.

This 2024, present were sustainable and social tourism professionals from the municipalities of Guanajuato:

  • Abasolo, Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Guanajuato Capital, Huanimaro, Irapuato, Leon, Purisima del Rincon, Salamanca, San Miguel de Allende and Silao

From States of Mexico like:

  • Mexico City, Chihuahua, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Sinaloa, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, and Yucatan.

Also from countries like:

  • Germany, Brazil, Bhutan, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, France, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

“It has been an honor to work with Guanajuato, thanks to the State Government and especially to SECTUR because incredible things have been achieved in the last three years when the SUMMIT has been held here. We recognize Guanajuato’s leadership in sustainability issues and we can tell you that SUMMIT took on another, much more real and positive dimension when it arrived in this State. Thank you,” noted Fernando Mandri.

During his speech, the Secretary of Tourism recounted the results of the three editions that were held in Guanajuato.
