The University Council of the National Autonomous University of Mexico –UNAM- , one of the best universities of Latin America, created the major “Tourism and Sustainable Development”, and it will be the campus ENES in Leon the first where it will be offered.
Strategies
In this Administration of Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato has developed strategies that promote the economic growth with social equity that does not affect the productive potential of natural resources, which are base of food for today’s and future generations.
Harmonic unity
Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, congratulated UNAM for creating this major, which contributes on the effort of professionals and professors in order to achieve sustainability, where man and nature can live in perpetual and harmonic unity.
Now UNAM offers 131 majors.
Contribution to GDP
“Today the Secretary of Tourism promotes the sustainable development and consolidation of segments in the dynamics of the tourist activity, a sector that contributes with 8.8 per cent to the national Gross Domestic Product and 10.4% of the World GDP”, said Alvarez Brunel.
A complete program
The major will be offered in the in-person form, and it will be finished in 5 years, it includes 59 subjects, 47 mandatory and 12 optional, with 449 credits in all.
