The People’s Government reaffirmed its commitment to work hand in hand with organized civil society through the Touching Hearts program, which promotes social projects with purpose, accessibility, and results for the people of Guanajuato.

“You are hope for many people throughout the State, because you have decided to stand up and work for those who need it most,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

Libia led the distribution of checks to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Organized Groups (OGs) from the first round of the Touching Hearts program.
In its first round, the program benefited 191 organizations and groups that submitted high-impact projects on issues such as health, disability, food security, child protection, elder care, ecology, sports, and prevention of violence.

Through a historic investment of 779.5 million pesos, 212 projects were funded after being reviewed and approved by a plural committee comprised of specialists, business leaders, and representatives of the Civil Society
“Touching Hearts is a prime example of the effort of society and government, building bridges and working as a team to give that extra push that organizations and associations need to continue fulfilling their objectives. This translates into a direct benefit for more than 304,000 people throughout the State of Guanajuato,” said the Governor.

Rosario Corona Amador, head of the Secretary of the New Beginning, explained that Touching Hearts fosters citizen participation and supports actions that promote equity, inclusion, peace, and human development through advising, training, and financial support that strengthens the capacities and management of organizations.
“We will continue to partner with organizations, and I thank you foryou’re your efforts,” said Rosario Corona.

Libia Dennise also witnessed the signing of agreements by the People’s Government, education institutions, and professional associations to strengthen organizations through training, certification, and advisory programs for the strengthening of CSOs and GOs.

The second call for proposals for “Touching Hearts” is currently underway. It closed on October 24th with 89 successfully registered projects totaling 202 million pesos, submitted by 73 CSOs and 6 GOs from the Central, Northern, Western, and Eastern regions of the state.
The evaluation process, which will conclude in December, will be public and transparent, reaffirming the principle of trust that guides this government.

Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, Mayor of Leon, acknowledged citizen participation, “True strength comes when citizens are united and decide to support, to spread hope and be able to help more people,” said the Mayor.
