Tongling, a leading Tier 1 automotive interiors supplier, laid the first stone of its plant in the Marabis Industrial Park, with an investment of 90 million dollars that will generate more than 460 direct jobs.

Under the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, Guanajuato’s economic policy attracts investment projects that are targeted, sustainable, and complementary to productive growth.

The Director General of Investment Attraction of the Secretary of Economy, Francisco Manuel Aguilar Flores, noted Guanajuato’s competitive advantages for leveraging nearshoring and generating prosperity.
“Tongling will bring innovation, smart production, and high-quality manufacturing. The arrival of companies like yours allows for technology transfer and improves the labor market with more specialized profiles. This strengthens the value chain in the Bajio region and responds to the growing demand for local manufacturing,” said the Official.

The new facility will be dedicated to the research, development, production, and sale of door trim, instrument panels, and center consoles, focusing on the premium automotive interior segment. This positions Guanajuato as a strategic hub for the automotive industry in Mexico and North America.

China is one of Guanajuato’s main strategic partners, with 14 projects exceeding $1.06 billion and generating employment for more than 7,900 people. Tongling’s arrival strengthens the local production chain, promotes technological innovation, and opens up specialized manufacturing work opportunities.
With the support of the People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy, Guanajuato reaffirms its status as a preferred destination for investments focused on sustainability, complementarity, and the expansion of the regional value chain.

The laying of this first stone represents a joint commitment of the government, the private sector, and local talent to promote well-being and economic development in Guanajuato.
