The Government of Guanajuato, through the Secretary for Migrants and International Affairs –SMEI-, announced that it will support the municipality of San Francisco del Rincon so that the National Hat Fair (FENS) becomes a world class event.
Juan Hernandez, head of the SMEI, said in his message that for next year, the edition will be carried out through an exhibition on the same date in the five Guanajuato contact offices located in the United States, where more than 1.5 million guanajuatenses.
“They proudly wear the hat that is made here in San Francisco del Rincon. It is often said that in football games there, guacamole is consumed a lot and it is sold a lot and yes, in the Super Bowl, but if you go to any soccer, football or baseball game, what you see are hats and the incredible thing is that they are made in Guanajuato”, dijo Hernandez.
Hernandez said that if our migrants consume something, it is from Guanajuato, firstly because they miss our beautiful customs and, mainly, because what is done here is well done.
Antonio Marun, Mayor of San Francisco del Rincon said that for this third edition, they expect more than 25 thousand visitors, who from June 18th to the 20th will generate an economic benefit of more than 8 million pesos.
The Mayor said that some 350 families that are part of the hat industry in the El Rincon towns will benefit.
“We are the hat capital of the world and that is the objective of the fair, to position ourselves throughout the world, to let everyone know that the best hats are produced here, therefore the importance of FENS to promote our producers and provide them with the platform that helps them make their product known to national and international buyers”, said the Mayor.
The undersecretary Aldo Marquez Becerra, said that within the facilities there will be a service module so that visitors can process the Contigo Si card and access discounts and other benefits.
In the presentation were representatives of the hat industry, the secretaries of economic development and tourism, as well as local Officials, groups dedicated to fashion and design, along with international models.
