To regulate security and equal employment opportunity, the State Government launched the SIGO GTO App, a technological tool for taxi operators and private transport service.
Today the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, launched the application as a pilot test in Celaya and the surrounding municipalities:
- Acambaro, Apaseo El Alto, Apaseo El Grande, Coroneo, Cortazar, Jaral del Progreso, Jerecuaro, Salvatierra, Santiago Maravatio, Tarandacuao and Tarimoro; this pilot test will conclude in May and will then be activated throughout Guanajuato
“Today, Guanajuato is once again at the national forefront, being the first State in our country to create a Mobility Application with the characteristics of SIGO GTO. This is an App that more than anything provides security to users and drivers”
Rodriguez Vallejo explained that the App generates a fair competition of application drivers and taxi drivers, since everyone can join the new platform without paying commissions as in other applications; there will be more availability of units and better arrival times and costs, in addition to the fact that the user will be able to choose between a taxi or a private service.
The SIGO GTO App was achieved with an investment of 17 million pesos by the State Government and will let taxi drivers offer their service as an additional means to the one they traditionally use and with the possibility of having more users.
It will also incorporate those who request it, as long as they are registered with the private transport service.
“This is going to bring great benefit to all of you because this application pays for itself, because there will be a lot of work and instead of the money going to the platforms, that dough stays in your pocket, in your homes and in the users who are going to save it”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“In Guanajuato we have the capabilities to make and develop technologies and look for these applications,” said the Governor.
This application, added the Governor, was created in compliance with a reform to the Law of Mobility where the figure of the executive service evolved and now all technological platforms can work legally in Guanajuato, through the Registry of Vehicle, through a code of quick response and above all, with full remuneration for the service provided.
“Here there are no dynamic rates, here dough goes to the pockets of taxi drivers and users, that is what Guanajuato is all about, a humanist government at the service of the people, not large international corporations, that’s what it is, Guanajuato is for Guanajuatenses,” said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo committed to support, through Guanajuato Funds, operators of these rental units interested in renovating their unit through credits that can be reimbursed at a rate of 6%, and with the possibility of rate reimbursement for prompt payment.
The Secretary of Government, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, explained in detail the operation of the new application that offers security mechanisms for users and operators with a 24/7 monitoring center in coordination with the C4 of the municipalities, the C5 of the State Government and the Monitoring Center of the General Directorate of Transport, to deal with any emergency.
Munoz Ledo said that the App shares the location in real time and has a security button to report any situation during the trip.
The application does not charge commission for the trip to the operators, all the profit is for the driver, it does not have dynamic rates, only a night rate will operate, with a 20% increase that goes from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the payment is in cash and the rates are established by the App according to the zones and schedules.
