On Saturday morning, authorities from the world of aviation and the Mexican aerospace sector met to start the sale of the first 100% Mexican aircraft developed in Guanajuato.
The event was held at the Atizapan Aerodrome, in the Jorge Jimenez Cantu National Airport; where authorities from the aerospace sector participated, as well as businessmen interested in acquiring the aircraft.
On February 6, the “Halcon II” received certification to begin its commercialization, it is an emblematic project; Designed and built in Guanajuato territory, it is the first 100% Mexican aircraft that has obtained this type of certification.
“First of all I want to send a greeting to the authorities of Guanajuato and likewise to all the engineers who participated in this event, to the technicians, mechanics in all the areas; because this effort is very important, this work that they have been developing to be able to reach this point, this demonstration that we are going to see today”, said Gregorio Garcia Morales, president of the Mexican Association of Aeronautical and Aerospace Institutions -AMEIA-.
The development of the “Halcon II” is a living testimony that Guanajuato’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem is a reality that drives the development of the State’s aerospace sector.
The collaboration between the Government, the Municipality of Celaya and the Bajio Aerospace Cluster has been fundamental to the success of the project, generating strategic alliances that promote the continuous growth of the sector.
“The Mexican Federal Civil Aviation Agency has the great honor of following up on this very important development; it has been difficult for the originators of this project to reach this level, this achievement. We truly congratulate the Horizontec company and all those who have participated in the design and development of this aircraft”, said Pablo Carranza, executive director of the Mexican Federal Civil Aviation Agency.
“The success of the flight of the Guanajuatense aircraft at this aerodrome would mean being able to market it and fly it in ninety-five percent of the airports in the world,” said Giovanni Angelucci, CEO of the Celaya company Horizontec, who also commented: “For us seeing all of you, authorities, governments and all these personalities gathered here today is a dream.”
Angelucci also thanked the Government of Guanajuato, the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade -COFOCE- and the Bajio Aerospace Cluster -BJX-, represented by Oscar Rodríguez, CEO of the Guanajuatense company Optimen, for the support provided in these years to achieve the consolidation and commercialization of the project.
