The Christmas and festive spirit arrives this weekend at the Roberto Plasencia Saldana Bicentennial Theater of the Guanajuato Cultural Forum with the presentation of the season’s classic: The Nutcracker.
The production is by the Mexican company Ballet of Monterrey with the artistic direction of Thiago Soares; The three performances, which are also presented in the celebratory for the 12th anniversary of the theater next Wednesday the 7th, are already sold out.
The Nutcracker is a Christmas classic from the universal ballet that recreates, during the Christmas Eve celebration, a trip to wonderful countries, full of charm and fantasy, where at the Christmas party, Clarita is ready to receive her friends when her godfather, Drosselmeyer, surprises all with toys and magic tricks, among which the gift for Clarita stands out: a beautiful nutcracker that wears an elegant uniform.
In this production, by the prestigious Mexican company Ballet de Monterrey, girls and boys from various local classical dance academies are presented. With music by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky and choreography based on the original by Lev Ivanov, with a libretto by Marius Petipa.
