The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato maintains the non-adherence to the IMSS Bienestar, confirmed Dr. Daniel Alberto Diaz Martinez.
The superior coverage of drug supply of 96%, plus the certified hospitals without a lack of drugs for cancer care, are some of the reasons that have demonstrated the efficiency of the services offered in Guanajuato.
Guanajuatenses with IMSS health coverage have been treated in the emergency services of the Gto Health System and are sent to their respective IMSS units when they are stable, but sometimes they prefer to continue receiving care in State health centers.
For example the IMSS paid 54 million pesos in past months to the Gto Health System for the care of its beneficiaries.
“There are no financing problems for people who are not beneficiaries, the sector of population that IMSS Bienestar intends to benefit,” said Dr. Daniel Diaz, listing that there are 637 health units of the Gto Health System that he heads against 54 that the IMSS plus 44 of the ISSSTE.
Diaz Martinez insisted that all over the Guanajuato territory there are about 3.5 million people who do not enjoy IMSS or ISSSTE health coverage, this has allowed the Gto Health System to have its own coverage in the 46 municipalities to serve precisely that part of the population without health entitlement.
The IMSS does not have a presence in more than 30 municipalities where there are beneficiaries.
For this reason Guanajuato remains firm not to adhere to the IMSS Well-being, in addition to having an initial investment of 6 billion pesos per year, a budget that in total exceeds 15 billion pesos with the contributions of the State Government.
The Gto Health System was awarded the national prize for transparency in the management of its resources and for its successful program for organ donation and transplants, which has become a national model.
Dr. Daniel Diaz added that Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo continues to give priority to the coverage of Guanajuatenses without health service with a State Planning Institute where coverage for the development of the State is provided and the right to health is guaranteed; it is a plan for 30 years based on good results.
“Quality plays a very important role in our hospitals in the medical care we provide and we decided to continue in charge of it,” said the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato.
